1 Month Old!

So I would consider the first month a success. We had our ups and downs trying to figure out the whole breast feeding thing, but I think we have it now. So who would have thought that the Similac rep would be like "Bessie" the cow and produce so much milk that we had to purchase a 2nd freezer for our house!! But now we have a mighty large stash for little Miss Riley :-)

We had a tough time getting Riley to cooporate for picture time...

STRETCH.....

And I think we have a keeper! 1 Month Old!! her 0-3 onesie is swallowing her! Maybe next month

                                                                           Our set up at night

So far we have made some pretty good progress! She is feeding every 3 hours and sleeping great at night. We swaddle her in what I call her straight jacket and giver her a wubbanub and we are set for the night. Then after her 6am feedings, we have special mommy time and she naps on my chest while I dream of getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Which by the way I'm starting to think I will never get again!! But I will say I would not change it for anything in the world! I love my sweet sweet girl more than anything in the world and we have so many fun times ahead of us!

Riley's BIRTHday

Riley is here!!!

It all started Wednesday night at dinner when I started having contractions but I wasn't sure what they were until they never went away and only happened quicker and with more intense pain. Thursday morning we went to the OB but I was only 1 1/2 cm and 70% effaced so he sent us home. It wasn't until Thursday night that they got unbearable. So back in the car to the OB we went on Friday morning. We got there and he knew by the look in my face that it was time to go!! We were 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced...Here we go!!
We got to the hospital and got all checked in and by the time I was in the bed and doing blood work, I was in pretty severe pain and a little concerned that I wasn't going to have time for an epidural because we were progressing so quickly. Finally relief came and I got the epidural and within 2 hours we were ready for the OB to come and deliver her. He was pretty shocked when he was paged back to the hospital for us as he thought it wasn't going to happen until about 6 pm. At around 2 everyone was kicked out of the room and Dr DeWane came and and started pushing. After 3 pushes I got to see that sweet baby girl!!

Ochsner Half Ironman - New Orleans

This weekend Jason and I decided to hop in the car and drive down to New Orleans for the half ironman. Thankfully Cameron had an extra room and we got to crash with her! We had a blast. We hung out in Jackson Square and the French Quarter most of the day Saturday and enjoyed some good food, music, shopping and most importantly people watching.

 Cafe Du Mond
They didn't stand a chance!!

Race day was fun but long! Jason did an awesome job, he finished in just under 6 hours despite a migraine in the middle of his run. I couldn't be more proud of him :)
